Tammy Stinson

Tammy M. Stinson, 61 of Beardstown, died Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Sarah D. Culbertson Hospital in Rushville.

She was born December 3, 1960 in Beardstown, the daughter of Melvin Junior Lyles and Nadine M. Trainer Smith. She married the love of her life, Tony Stinson on June 28, 1980 and he survives in Beardstown.

She is also survived by her son Shane (wife Amber) Stinson of Eldon, IA; 6 grandchildren Haley Stinson, Joclyn Smith, Larissa Smith, Daulton Stinson, Autumn Stinson, and Fallyn Stinson; one great granddaughter Aspen Nicole Nash; two brothers Thomas Anderson of Springfield and Tony Lyles of Browning; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son Brandon Stinson.

Tammy graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1979. She truly was selfless as she put everybody’s needs before her own. She stayed at home to raise her kids before she began her current career as a 20+ year rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. She had a gift of gabbing and spent many hours visiting over the phone with friends and family. She had a love for all holidays and especially Christmas Shopping adventures. Most of all she cherished every moment spent with her family.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, September 26, 2022 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown with Pastor Matthew Haberman officiating. Burial will be in Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the services at the memorial home on Monday.
