Susan Swan

Susan Jane Swan, age 59 of Rushville, died Monday, January 17, 2022 at Sarah D. Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

She was born February 18, 1962 in Beardstown, the daughter of James F. Swan, Sr. and Anna Marie Silsby.

She is survived by a stepmother Karen Swan of Fairchild, WI.; two sisters Judy Lyles of Beardstown and Karen (husband Gayland) Rades; five brothers Franklin Swan, Jamie (wife Tracy) Swan, Perry Swan, Glenn (wife Nikki) Swan, and Robert Swan; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Jimmy Swan, and a sister Ida Swan.

Susan attended Beardstown High School. She was very active with sports, especially playing catcher in softball even making the All-Star Team each year. She worked at Prime Egg in Stockton and was also self-employed selling clams and shells. She loved her family and animals, especially her cat Angel. Susan and her sister Judy were inseparable at a young age and later in life. Susan was instrumental in helping raise her nephews. She enjoyed watching TV and rooting for the Miami Dolphins. Even though she will no longer be living on this earth her memory will live on in the lives of those who loved her the most.

Memorial services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown with Reverend Fred Fritz officiating. Burial will be in the Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the memorial home.
