Sandy was in the Beardstown Alumni Class of 1960 after earning her GED. She was first a wife and mother but also a savvy businesswoman earning many awards with her ability to sell Avon for decades. Sandy enjoyed the great outdoors and had a love for music; playing the bass guitar and singing alongside her husband or just jamming with the gang. She had a talent for baking and decorating cakes, making elderberry salve, and composing a family cookbook. She also answered to the name Nanny Goat, or you might have known Sandy and her husband as “Waterbug” and “Trader” on the CB Radio. Sandy will be greatly missed by all those she leaves behind.
Cremation rites have been accorded. The family will meet with friends from 5-7 PM Friday at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. No formal services will be held.
