Margaret Beutin

Margaret R. Beutin, age 91 of Rushville and formerly of Beardstown, died Saturday, July 9, 2022 at her home.

She was born September 1, 1930 in Louisiana, MO, the daughter of Herman and Ruth Lovell. She married John A. Beutin on October 23, 1971 in Beardstown and he preceded her in death on June 22, 2003.

She is survived by a daughter Anna Murk of Rushville; seven grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchildren; three sisters Nora Utterback of Missouri, Mary Lou Gielau of Beardstown, and Kay (husband Paul) Blakeman of Beardstown; two brothers Paul McMurl of Beardstown and Harry McMurl of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter Ruth Sipes, two sons Benjamin Goldsmith and Kenny Goldsmith; a granddaughter Wendy Sue Sipes, a sister Henrietta Barker, and a brother Robert McMurl.

Mrs. Beutin attended East Moline and Beardstown Schools. She worked alongside her parent who owned the Mile 88 in Beardstown and later for Brubeck Florist in Beardstown. Margaret operated a in home daycare for 25+ years caring for many children who stepped foot into her home. She was a member First Christian Church in Fredrick and had a passion for sewing and fishing. Margaret took pride in raising her family and will be greatly missed by all those who loved and knew her.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. Burial will be in the Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the services at the memorial home on Saturday.
