Linda Dugger

January 18, 1947 — January 9, 2023

Linda C. Dugger, 75 of Beardstown, died Monday, January 9, 2023 at Culbertson Memorial Hospital.

She was born January 18, 1947 in Cass County, the daughter of John Conrad and Winifred Geraldine Jones. She married Michael Dugger on February 26, 1965 at Lottie Morrow’s home, and he survives in Beardstown.

Also surviving are two children Lorie (husband Eric) Chrzanowski and Scott Dugger (companion Marcianna Thorne Williams) both of Beardstown; five grandchildren Cody, Brittany, Zach, Sara, and Shawn Chrzanowski; one great granddaughter Alyzah; two sisters Pam Benjamin of Rushville and Teresa (husband Richard) Walker of La Porte, IN; one brother Gary (wife Cindy) Shelton of Palmyra, MO; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Dixie Rogers.

Linda attended Beardstown High School with the class of 1965. Growing up she was known for being little but mighty. Her pride and joy were being “Mom” and Gran” to her family. Linda was a homemaker and remembered for her cooking, cleaning, and grocery trips. She had a knack for creating adventures wherever she went. It was never a surprise to find an animal taking up space in her home whether it was a dog, bird, guinea pig, turtle, or tank of fish. She was known for picking up the grandkids from the bus stop before school to have a morning snack of pop tarts while cruising the levy with the goal of slightly going airborne. She also cherished time cruising around town with Mike. Linda was a grand schemer and always had an idea that Mike would end up completing to make her happy. She loved watching old westerns but had a true passion for watching movies which led to a job at Wheelhouse TV and might have been solely for the purpose of being able to rent any movie she wanted. Gathering around the screen to watch wrestling, MMA fighting, and boxing was a favorite pass time hobby she cherished with Mike. Linda loved to shop and had an eye for finding the perfect pair or multiple pairs of shoes and purses to add to her never-ending collection. Later in life, Linda worked as an in-home personal assistance under the instruction of Betty DeGroot Cass County Human Resource Center and retired after 20 years. Her life was full of mischief and fun but most importantly nothing compared to the time spent with her family. Her memory will live on in the lives of her family as they continue celebrating life.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. Burial will be in the Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 5-7 PM Friday at the memorial home.
