Kenneth Wayne Dour, age 85 of Beardstown, died Friday, May 27, 2022 at Memorial Medical Center.

He was born July 14, 1936 in Cass County, the son of Herman C. and Velma Davidsmeier Dour. He married Vera Charlene Piehler on June 14, 1957 at St. John’s Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife Charlene Dour of rural Virginia; two sons Michael Wayne (wife Phyllis) Dour of Beardstown and Brian Lee (wife Lori) Dour of rural Virginia; five grandchildren Chris Dour, Stephanie (husband George) Brown, Rick Dour, Olivia Dour, and Alyssa Dour; and four great grandchildren Jackson Dour, Maryn Dour, Georgia Brown and Kellen Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Chris Allen Dour, a brother Herman C. Dour, Jr, and numerous aunts and uncles.

Kenny graduated from Virginia High School class of 1953. He was a baptized and confirmed, life-long devoted member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. From a young age he spent his time working on the family farm. He met the love of his life, and they continued the tradition of farm life. Kenny raised cattle and hogs alongside farming. He was a talented carpenter assisting on designing and building projects for not only himself but his family and friends. He loved being outdoors and working in the yard or his flower garden. Kenny had a passion for music and listening to his son Mike sing with The Two by Two gospel group. Watching his son Brian’s college and minor league baseball career was a highlight in Kenny’s life alongside cheering all his kids and grandchildren at their ball games. Traveling to Branson with his wife, Glenn and Mary Miller, and Jim and Linda Culver, always brought Kenny so much joy. Later in life, Kenny worked for Brauer Pork Inc. Church and family came first to Kenny, He had a giving heart and will be missed by all those who loved and knew him.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beardstown. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 9:30 AM until the time of services at the church on Wednesday. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
