Kandi Shults

Kandi Denise Shults, 50, of Beardstown, passed away at 5:07 AM, Monday, October 19, 2020, at her home.

She was born on July 1, 1970, in Pekin, Illinois, the daughter of James D. and Sharon L. (Edwards)Shults. She married Monte Park on February 14,1987.  They had three children Brandon Park, Britny (Park) Daniel and Brianna Park.

She is survived by her boyfriend Travis Pate of Beardstown; children Britny (husband Chris) Daniel of Beardstown, Brandon (girlfriend Jessie) Park of Arenzville, Brianna (fiancé Kyle) Park of Arenzville, Harley Pate and Davidson Pate of Beardstown; her mother Sharon (husband Duane) Davis of Rushville; her father James(companion Brenda) Shults Rushville; nine grandchildren Jack, Abel, Scarlett, Lillith, Victoria, Gabriel, Kynley, Maddox, and Maverick; three sisters Shari (husband Russell) Marquis of Rushville, Angie (husband Dewayne) Jockisch of Vermont, and Sherri (husband Joe) Perry of Beardstown; three brothers Steve (wife Karen) Davis of Astoria, Scott (wife Michelle) Shults of Industry, and Jason (wife Susan) Davis of Macomb; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband Monte Park, paternal grandparents, and maternal grandparents.

Kandi graduated from Rushville High School in the class of 1988 and later obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant Degree from Lincoln Land Community College. She worked in construction for E and L Siding and Remodeling in Beardstown and WIRC in Springfield, and was working at Heritage Health in Beardstown before her health problems. Kandi enjoyed being outdoors, spending time with her family, teaching Davidson how to sew and crafting, but her greatest joy was being a “Grammy”.

Cremation rites have been accorded and an informal visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. Private family burial will be held at Rushville City Cemetery.
