Jennifer Buck

May 7, 1958 — July 17, 2022

Jennifer Buck, age 64 of Beardstown, died Sunday, July 17, 2022 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

She was born May 7, 1958 in Jacksonville, the daughter of Jack and Jean Logan Chapman. She was swept off her feet by a young man on a motorcycle and knew he was the one. She married Paul David Buck on July 13, 1979 in Jacksonville.

She is survived by her husband David Buck of Beardstown; one daughter Amy (husband John) Cotter of Swansea; three grandchildren Rachel, Sebastian, and Halynn Cotter; her mother Jean Chapman of Jacksonville; one sister Joanna Long of Indiana; a brother-in-law Mike (wife Karen) Buck of Philadelphia; five nieces and nephews John, Spencer, Kenton, and Breland Long, and Jocelyn (husband Joel) Knoblock; and two great nieces Milana and Hannah Knoblock. She was preceded in death by her father.

Jennifer graduated from Jacksonville High School in the class 1976 and later from Robert Morris Business School. For 41 years she graced the office of Bellatti, Bellatti, Faye, and Bone, LLP now Bellatti, Faye, Bellatti and Beard, LLP with her knowledge and bookwork.

Jennifer’s love of motorcycles began when she met David. He taught her how to ride and most would agree that she rode with elegance. They began a lifetime of memories traveling on bike to 49 out of 50 states, only missing Hawaii. Together they ventured to Europe and Canada on many bike tours. Jennifer was a beloved extended family member of Bro Riders Motorcycle Club. She cruised numerous miles alongside her husband, and their favorite trips were riding down to her daughter’s house to spend time with their grandkids and family. Jennifer loved working outside, back road riding, annual trips to the Ozarks but most of all the time she spent on the open road with Dave. God may have gained an angel, but the Bro Riders lost one the day Jennifer left this earth.

A celebration of life gathering will be held from 1-4 PM Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Beardstown Elks Lodge. There will be no formal services. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
