Jeffrey "Jeff" Fritz

Jeffrey Alan “Jeff” Fritz, age 55 of Beardstown, died Friday, February 7, 2020 at Sarah D. Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born September 11, 1964 in Beardstown, the son of John and Gloria Lyles Fritz. He married Janet Lippert on March 19, 1988.

He is survived by his wife Janet Fritz of Beardstown, his mother Gloria Fritz of Beardstown; two daughters Amanda (husband Tanner) Howell and Alissa Fritz both of Beardstown, three grandchildren Adelia, Foster, and Eason Howell; one sister Diane (husband Rick) Abel of Missouri; and one brother John Fritz, Jr. of California. He was preceded in death by his father.

Jeff attended Beardstown Schools. He was a member of B.P.O. Elks Lodge #1007 and Guthrie-Pierce VFW Auxiliary Post in Beardstown. Jeff was a man of many talents. He most recently was working with Cooksey Construction in Virginia. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting, playing on the river, and entertaining everyone with his stories. He had a passion for classic cars, being with friends, and helping anyone in need. He was always there to lend a hand or offer his time. His greatest joy in life was his family, and he loved nothing more than bragging about them. Jeff was a devoted husband, father, Papa, and friend.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. Burial will follow in the Beardstown City Cemetery. Friends may call the funeral home after 1 PM on Tuesday, with the family meeting friends from 4-7 PM Tuesday at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown.
