She is survived by four grandchildren Angie (husband Robin) Knous, Heidi (husband Mike) Gann, Schuyler (husband Jim) Lauderback all of Beardstown, and Robert Thomas (wife Alexis Adoptante) Trone of Florida; nine great grandchildren Jared Knous, Bryan Knous, Genna (husband David) Sullivan, Cadey (companion Alvin Winner) Knous, Mac (Fiancé Gwen Force) Gann, Gracie Gann, Staci(husband Randy) McCombs, Quin Lauderback, and Sonia Lee Trone; six great-great grandchildren Ayden, Grady, Cecelia, Breezi, Autumn, and Lydia; and one great-great granddaughter Freya arriving any day. Mrs. Harriet Lee graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1942. She then left for Washington, D.C. to work for the Department of Veterans Affairs where she oversaw getting the death certificates filed for World War II soldiers. She spoke fondly of her time in Washington D.C. where she enjoyed meeting new people and especially loved to go dancing in her free time. When the war was over, she moved back to Beardstown and married. She was a woman of faith and former member of Community of Christ and 1st Congregational Church both of Beardstown. Later in her career she worked as a secretary for A.C. Jones Trucking in Beardstown and then later retired from Oscar Mayer. Each tax season she helped many by filing their taxes from her home. Mrs. Lee had many passions: collecting dolls, ceramics, reading, quilting, crocheting, genealogy, bus trips and was an avid Cubs fan to name a few. She loved researching the history of Beardstown, especially the west end where she grew up and wrote many articles for the newspaper about how things use to be. Over the years she was known for taking in missionaries and kept in contact with them. She lived a long life however a void will be left in all those who loved her the most.
