She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beardstown, Beardstown Emblem Club #474, and the Cass County Art Club, where she had served as President. Daretta was a talented oil painter and piano player. She enjoyed chipping away on the golf course, shopping until she dropped, and pressing her luck at casino’s. Daretta and Jack cherished their time together ballroom dancing and when they wintered in Florida. She could be heard cheering on her grandchildren’s events and for the Chicago Cubs.
