Bernardo Fiz Trujillo “El Montador”, age 59 of Beardstown, died Thursday, April 7, 2022.

He was born on February 11, 1963 in Estado de Mexico, the son of Leonides Fiz Sandoval and Gudelia Trujillo. He married Martha Flores in 1992 in Mexico and she survives in Beardstown.

He is also survived his mother Gudelia Trujillo; two sons Mario (wife Manuela) Fiz and Heriberto Flores (companion Ariana Atriano) both of Beardstown; three daughters Karen Fiz Flores (husband Diego Gonzalez), Melissa Fiz Flores, and Iliana Sarahi Fiz all of Beardstown; seven grandchildren Gabriela, Axel, Danilo, Ximena, Leonardo, Cielo, and Alex; and four brothers and one sister all in Mexico. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother.

Bernardo went to school in Mexico and is of the Catholic Faith. He was a livestock farmer, currently working in the hog industry. He enjoyed playing soccer and he earned the nickname “El Montador” as a bull rider. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be held at 2 PM Monday, April 11, 2022 at St. Alexius Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Alexius Catholic Cemetery in Beardstown. The family will meet with friends from 5-7 PM Sunday at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown.

Nació el 11 de febrero de 1963 en el Estado de México, hijo de Leonides Fiz Sandoval y Gudelia Trujillo. Se casó con Martha Flores en 1992 en México y ella sobrevive en Beardstown.

También le sobreviven su madre Gudelia Trujillo; dos hijos Mario (esposa Manuela) Fiz y Heriberto Flores (compañero Ariana Atriano) ambos de Beardstown; tres hijas Karen Fiz Flores (esposo Diego Gonzalez), Melissa Fiz Flores e Iliana Sarahi Fiz todas de Beardstown; siete nietos Gabriela, Axel, Danilo, Ximena, Leonardo, Cielo y Alex; y cuatro hermanos y una hermana todos en México. Le precedieron en la muerte su padre y un hermano.

Bernardo fue a la escuela en México y es de la fe católica. Era ganadero, actualmente trabajaba en la industria porcina. Le gustaba jugar al fútbol y se ganó el apodo de “El Montador” como jinete de toros. Su mayor alegría era pasar tiempo con su familia, especialmente con sus nietos.

Se llevará a cabo una misa fúnebre el lunes 11 de abril de 2022 a las 2 p. m. en la iglesia católica St. Alexius. El entierro será en el Cementerio Católico St. Alexius en Beardstown. La familia se reunirá con amigos el domingo de 5 a 7 p. m. en Colwell Memorial Home en Beardstown.
