Ryan Fishel

Ryan Roy Fishel, 35 of Florida and formerly of Beardstown, died Sunday, July 17, 2016 at his home.

He was born June 26, 1981 in Springfield, the son of Harry Leroy and Judith Ann Rogers Fishel.

He is survived by his mother Judith Fishel (companion Tim Harris) of Beardstown; three children Logan, Chase, and Kaytlin; a brother Shawn Fishel (companion Jessica Shores) of Springfield; a niece Sarah; and two nephews Connor and Dylan.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother John Fishel.

Ryan graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1999. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army. Ryan was stationed in Germany prior to September 11th, 2001. He received his orders shortly after and served a tour in Iraq. He received his rank as Sargent during his Army career. Ryan enjoyed fishing, hunting, baseball and archery. He was baptized in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in Beardstown, was a member of Guthrie-Pierce VFW Post #1209 and Beardstown Elks Lodge #1007. Ryan was full of life and loved his family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. Burial will be in the Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the services at the memorial home on Saturday.
