Rusty attended Beardstown Schools. He always said the river was home. For 20 years, he worked for Logsdon’s Tug service in Beardstown, starting out as a deckhand and working his way up to a pilot. He was a pilot at Catfish Bend Casino and retired as a Captain. After the Catfish Bend Casino went dock side, he worked for ADM on a line boat. In his early years he enjoyed fishing and has always had an ornery sense of humor. He loved all kids and dedicated many spring and summer nights investing in our youth as a coach. Rusty loved spending time watching traffic from his garage jamming out to 106.7 and traveling with family but most of all he cherished the time he spent with his grandkids.
