Dick Yost left this earthly life to go live forever with his Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, December 15, 2023. He was born August 17, 1938, to August and Frances Yost. He married Beth Ann Venters on October 21, 1977, and she survives.

Dick is survived by his four children: Monica Behnen (companion Rich Stout), Mark Yost (Susan), Greg Yost, and Alisa Jones (Kevin) and his spiritual daughter, Marcie Altman. Also surviving are his grandchildren Andy Jones (Kristen), Austin Jones, Taylor Yost, Nick and Emma Yost, and his great grandchildren, Merritt and Karter Jones. Dick has one sister that also survives, Jean Rhoades (John)

Dick was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Bob and Larry Yost, a sister, Marilyn Smith, and a sister Betty in infancy. He was also predeceased by his granddaughter, Michelle Yost, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Max and Shirley Venters.

Dick served his country as a United States Marine and was stationed in Hawaii. He really enjoyed coaching Little League when his boys were playing baseball. One of his hobbies was doing leather work and, later in life, some woodworking. He worked for many years at Matthews New Furniture in Beardstown and then later became a wheelchair rehab specialist. His compassionate nature and mechanical ability allowed him to become an expert in his field of adapting wheelchairs to fit his many patients' needs. He most loved working with handicapped children.

Anyone who knew Dick will remember his beaming smile and that he was a strong Christian. He loved the Lord with all his heart and served Him to the best of his ability. His wife, children, and grandchildren meant the world to him.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. The family will meet with friends from 11AM until the time of services at the memorial home on Tuesday. The burial will be held at 3:30 PM on Tuesday at Rushville City Cemetery.
