Ramona F. "Mona" Larner

Ramona F. Larner, 84 of Beardstown and formerly of Quincy, died Friday, July 31, 2026 at Beardstown Health and Rehab.

She was born May 30, 1942 in Batesville, AR, the daughter of Raymond and Lavina Harrison Pearcy. She married. She later married Edgar W. "Ed" Larner, Jr in 1983, and he preceded her in death on April 7, 2012.

She was the mother of two daughters, Michele Richardson and Cindy Bixby; grandchildren Ashley Wellenkamp (husband, Phil) of rural Virginia, Illinois, and Joey Richardson of North Carolina; as well as several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Caroline Hopping of Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and two brothers, Robert and Carl Pearcy.

Ramona attended schools in Avon and Abingdon Schools. She later earned her nursing degree and worked at Galesburg Research Hospital and Blessing Hospital in Quincy. Ramona was of the Baptist faith and had a deep love for the Lord. She enjoyed traveling, following current events, watching Fox News, and experiencing the thrill of skydiving.

Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded, and aerial scattering of her cremated remains will take place at a later date. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
