Norb graduated from St. Ladislaus High School in Hamtramck, MI, and attended Walsh Business College. He began working with Gulf and Western Industries in Michigan and transferred to Bohn Aluminum in Beardstown. In 1984, Norb started his banking career with First State Bank in Beardstown, retiring from what is now known as West Central Bank in 2001. He was a wealth of knowledge when it came to numbers and banking. Norb was baptized and confirmed in the catholic faith and was an active member of St. Alexius Catholic church, serving as a faithful member. He was a member of the Beardstown Elks Lodge #1007 and Beardstown Kiwanis Club and was influential from the start of what locals recognize as Rose Day. He made it a mission to always select the perfect color of roses for his daughter-in-law and granddaughters. Norb coached Little League and Pony League and followed his son Eric's baseball career through college.

He had many hobbies, including traveling, golfing, bowling, watching sports (especially hockey and the Chicago Cubs), and playing cards (Bridge or Michigan Rummy). Norb had a passion for his Polish heritage and instilled the rich history within his family even if it was sharing their names in Polish or serenading in the native language at each birthday celebration. All those who loved him the most will miss his zeal for life.
