Miles Miguel Brooks

Miles Miguel Brooks, 49, of Beardstown, died Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at his home.

He was born December 26, 1975, in Beardstown to Merle and Marsha Kay Spoon Brooks. He married Teresa Spencer on April 20, 2023; she survives in Beardstown.

He is also survived by three children: Layne Brooks (wife Tiffany) of Meredosia, Logan Brooks (wife Emma) of Bushnell, and Trey Brooks of Godfrey; three stepchildren from his wife Teresa: Emma Conner of Beardstown, Ashton Conner of Mt. Sterling, and Olivia Still of Mt. Sterling; four grandchildren: Jaxson Dawson, Steven Self, Ryker Brooks, and Ariel Brooks; two brothers: Matt M. Brooks (wife Marcy) of Astoria, and Dennis Michael Reiley, Jr (wife Vickie) of Springfield; as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and his son Miles David Brooks.

Miles graduated from Beardstown High School in 1995 and later earned his CDL from Lincoln Land Community College. He worked for Osage Marine in Naples and Bill's Parts and Service in Concord. Miles had a knack for mechanics and took pride in his skills. He often had restoration projects underway, including a 1994 Chevy truck and a Trans Am he hoped to finish.

When not in the garage, Miles rode his Harley-a hobby that led him to meet his wife. Family, grandchildren, and friends were the center of his world. He found joy in simple moments together, especially Sunday dinners and Thanksgiving, where he often prepared his famous homemade noodles.

After a stroke, Miles faced health challenges with determination and strength. Family support helped him overcome obstacles. He continued to live fully, cherishing each day.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. Burial will follow in Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 5 to 7:30 on Thursday at the memorial home.
