Marsha Joy Mangrum, 80 of Beardstown, died Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Beardstown Nursing and Rehab.

She was born February 2, 1944 in Beardstown, the daughter of Gus and Lorene Ashford Perry. She married William R. Mangrum and he preceded her in death on July 21, 1972.

She is survived by her companion of 51 years, Bill Beaty of Beardstown; numerous nieces and nephews; and her four-legged friend Roxanne. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers Lyndel K. and Dale Perry, and two sisters Barbara Hymes and Carole Rhoades.

Joy attended Beardstown Schools and was a previous member of Guthrie-Pierce VFW Auxiliary Post #1239. She enjoyed going on rides and trying her luck at casinos. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and truly lived with joy in her heart.

The family will meet with friends from 5-7 PM Monday, September 16, 2024 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. Graveside memorial services will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Beardstown City Cemetery.
