Marjorie Ann Shaw

Marjorie Ann Shaw, 77 of Beardstown, died Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Beardstown Health and Rehab.

She was born March 8, 1947 in Albany, MO the daughter of James William and Lylus Rebe Monger. She married Garry L. Shaw on June 14, 1968 in Beardstown and he preceded her in death on August 24, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Leta Kathryn Farwell, and a nephew Larry Neil Farwell.

She is survived by three children Barbara Smith and Jason Shaw both of Pawnee and Jeremy Shaw; nine grandchildren Tylor Smith, Jason "Cale" Smith, Noah Smith, Kolby Shaw, Cassie Story, Isaiah Shaw, Dominic Shaw, Wyatt Shaw, and Piper Shaw; a sister Teresa (husband Allen) Fischer of rural Arenzville; a brother Fred (wife Marsha) Monger of Beardstown; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Marge graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1965 and was a confirmed member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beardstown. She was an in-home beautician on the weekends, and during the week she was a secretary at DeSollar and Wessler Agency in Beardstown, retiring in 2010. Marge was a social butterfly. If you had the chance to meet her, she most likely had a McDonald's vanilla iced coffee in her hand. She had a giving heart, enjoyed a good shopping trip, and was everyone's computer guru. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Her memory will live on in those who loved her the most.

Cremation rites have been accorded and the family will meet with friends from 5-7 PM Monday, April 22, 2024 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. There will be no formal services. Private family burial will be held in the Beardstown City Cemetery.
