Marianne Trone

April 14, 1936 — November 3, 2017

Marianne Steele Trone, age 81 of Beardstown, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Heritage Health in Beardstown after enduring a 17 year journey through Alzheimer's.

She was born April 14, 1936 in Beardstown, the daughter of Norman “Mickey” and Maryland Wynne Steele.

She is survived by her children, Jeffrey Trone of Houston, TX, Gregory (wife Melanie) Trone of Centralia, Christopher (wife Wendy) Trone of Montgomery, TX, Eric (wife Cindy) Trone of Beardstown, Martin Trone of Argyle, and Chala (husband Wayne) Blake of Beardstown; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother John (wife Dixie) Steele of Springfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter Aimee Trone, her sister Marsha Hendrix, and two brothers Marty Steele and Norman (surviving wife Barb) Steele.

Marianne graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1954, where she was known for her beautiful red hair and friendly personality. She loved politics and was one of the first people to be a Transcriber for the Illinois State Senate. Later on, she worked for the Cass County Courthouse and after moving to Centralia, which is uniquely located within 4 counties, she also worked within the Salem Illinois courthouse. After returning to Beardstown, she worked at the Springfield State Journal Register with her brother. Marianne was a member of St. Alexius Catholic Church. She enjoyed going to yard sales, family poker night, and playing Bingo. Most important to Marianne was being with her family. She always maintained a fun-loving personality through all the ups and downs that life had to offer, and for that, she will be missed dearly.

Services will be held at 10:45 AM Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at St. Alexius Catholic Church in Beardstown. Burial will be in St. Alexius Catholic Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 9:30-10:30 AM Tuesday at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown.
