Llodema Sue Kindred, 90 of Beardstown, died Sunday, November 1, 2026 a Beardstown Health and Rehab.

She was born September 7, 1936 in Beardstown, the daughter of Cecil and Hattie Victoria Williams Gibson. She married James Kindred and he preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons, Robert Coats (late wife Kathy) of Bushnell and Michael Coats (late wife Patty) of Tallula; two daughters, Jacqueline "Jackie" Coats and Cindy Ward (husband Gary), both of Beardstown; five grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two twin daughters Barbara Jean Coats in infancy and Debbie Herzog, two brothers, Tom Gibson and Cecil "Butch" Gibson.

Sue attended Beardstown schools and later proudly earned her GED. From 1972 until 2010, Sue owned and operated the Star Café in Beardstown. Her customers and fellow employees meant the world to her. She took great pride in her work and the friendships she made throughout the years. Known for being an exceptional cook, Sue's talents extended well beyond the Star's kitchen. She loved preparing meals for her family and friends, and no one ever left her table hungry.

Sue also took tremendous pride in her home, which was truly her pride and joy. She had a remarkable talent for woodworking and could refinish woodwork with the best of them. She enjoyed antiquing, had a fondness for collecting clowns, and appreciated treasures that brought character and personality to her home. Whether she was cooking a favorite meal, working on a project around the house, or spending time with those she loved, Sue put her heart into everything she did.

Above all, Sue was a devoted mother, and in the eyes of her children, she was simply the best mom anyone could ask for. Her family was an important part of her life, and she showed her love in the many ways she cared for those around her.
