Lisa K. Murray, age 49 of Beardstown, died Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
She was born August 20, 1969 in Beardstown, the daughter of John and Jackie Walters Bresnahan. She married Michael J. Murray on October 18, 2008.
Surviving is her husband Michael Murray of Beardstown, two sons Chase (wife Mandee) Bresnahan of Centerville, MO and Trenton Murray of Beardstown; five grandchildren Brooke, Bailee, Rylan, Makenziee, and Makenliee; her parents John and Jackie Bresnahan; her paternal grandmother Geraldine Bresnahan, her father-in-law and mother-in-law Phil and Mary Murray; her sister Jenna (husband Jacob) Henry of Tacoma, WA; her sister-in-law Sara (husband Jason) Brockschmidt; her best friend Kathy Brannan; and several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Darrel Bresnahan and her maternal grandparents Tuck and Peggy Brooks Walters.
Lisa graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1989. She had worked for the Beardstown Police Department as a dispatcher for 11 years and was currently working as a teacher’s aide in Beardstown. She volunteered with youth group at First United Methodist Church and Beardstown PTA. She was active in her community and loved watching her sons play baseball. Lisa had a contagious smile and enjoyed scratch off lotto tickets, but most of all she cherished each moment spent with her family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, March 2, 2019 at First United Methodist Church in Beardstown. Burial will be in the Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 10 AM until the time of the services at the church on Saturday. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
