Linda Sue Baer, 85 of Beardstown, died Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Heritage Health in Mt. Sterling. She was born February 25, 1930 in Beardstown the daughter of Robert Bolling and Helen Sherman Adams. She married Bill Baer on September 25, 1949 at First United Methodist Church in Beardstown, and he preceded her in death on August 8, 2008. She is survived by her children Jeff (wife Cheryl) Baer of Beardstown and Toni (husband John) Musgrove of Girard; and four grandchildren Will (wife Abby) and Jessie Musgrove, and Chris and Phillip Baer. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters Roberta Ferris, Zola Mae Shane, and Alberta Lee Gramann, and one brother Robert Bolling Adams, Jr. Sue graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1948. Sue was a faithful and active member of First United Methodist Church in Beardstown, where she and her husband taught 2 and 3-year-old Sunday school for many years. She was also dedicated and devoted to Walk to Emmaus, Chrysalis, and the Prison Ministry. Sue led many members of the Beardstown area through Explorers Bible Study and Marriage Encounter. Sue encouraged all who crossed her path by helping them with their greatest needs. She thoroughly loved her family and friends and will be genuinely missed, especially by those who knew her as “Gam”. Memorial services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in Beardstown. Burial will be in the Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the services at the church. Memorials have been suggested to First United Methodist Church Samaritan Fund.
