Lauralee Ann Smith, 76 of Olney, and formerly of Beardstown, died Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East in Indiana.
She was born June 7, 1946 in Beardstown the daughter of Howard John and Betty Doran Osmer. She married Ronald Lee Smith on December 27, 1972 in Beardstown and he preceded her in death on June 28, 2018.
She is survived by three children Matt (wife Kathy) Smith of Lafayette, IN, Jason (wife Jane) Smith of Noble, IL, and Ellen Smith of Louisville, KY; four grandchildren Jacob Smith, Jarod Smith, Connor Harrison, and Savannah Smith; a great granddaughter due in June; two sisters Martha (husband Charles) Clayton of Camden and Jan (husband Steve) Ford of Beardstown; three brothers David (wife Georgeanne) Osmer of Beardstown, Joe (wife Susan) Osmer of Beardstown, and Thomas (wife Tamara) Osmer of Springfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters Mary Margaret Osmer and Susan Ann Swisher, and two brothers Bradd and Brian Osmer.
Lauralee graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1964. She began raising a family and was married in 1972. In 1981 she moved to Olney and worked as a pharmacy technician, enjoying her years at Bower’s Drug Store. Lauralee was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Olney. She spent her free time playing crossword puzzles, reading, and cooking. She cherished the time spent with her grandkids and loved any time that allowed visiting with family. Her memory will continue to live on in the lives of those she who loved her.
Graveside services will be held at 3 PM Saturday, April 1, 2023 at St. Alexius Catholic Cemetery in Beardstown. The family will meet with friends from 1-2:30 PM Saturday at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown.
