Jennifer Mcculley

Jennifer Michelle McCulley, age 41 of Beardstown, took the stairway to heaven on October 29, 2017 to take the hands of her father David Floyd and grandmother Virginia Hartz.

She was born on May 19, 1976 in Moline, the daughter of David and Judy Hartz Floyd Surratt. She married Bleu Shawn McCulley on December 12, 2007.

She is survived by her husband Shawn McCulley of Beardstown; her two children Cory Floyd “George Paxton II” and Kaitlyn Marie McCulley both of Beardstown; her mother Judy Surratt of Jacksonville; her brother Thatcher Floyd of Beardstown; and two nieces Isabella and Kamilla Floyd both of Beardstown.

She was preceded in death by her father and grandmother.

Jennifer attended Jacksonville High School and later obtained her GED from Lincoln Land Community College. In her earlier years she had worked at various nursing homes as a caregiver and some local fast food restaurants. Currently, she was employed with the A.C. School District as a teacher’s aide and janitor. She attended Bethel Community Church of the Nazarene in rural Cass County.

Jennifer lived. She enjoyed traveling and accomplishing items off of her “bucket list”. Animals held a special place in her heart; she swam with the dolphins, and her cat Marilyn never left her side. Jennifer was avid about living a healthy lifestyle and working out, but she also knew it was ok to have a snack every now and then, and even take a break and watch a good movie. Jennifer cherished her family and she lived for Georgie and Kaitlyn.

Funeral services will be held at Noon on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. Burial will be in the Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends two hour prior to the services at the memorial home.

Memorials have been suggested to the Kaitlyn McCulley Scholarship Fund.
