Jeanette L. Harbin

Jeanette L. Harbin, age 75 of Beardstown, died on Monday February 19, 2024 at her home surrounded by family.

She was born October 26, 1948, in Cass County, the daughter of James Norman and Bessie Alice Wright Lynn. She married Wendell Harbin on May 20, 1967 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arenzville.

She is survived by a daughter Wendy (husband Lynn) Yost of Virginia and their children Jessica (husband Griffin) Patterson and their children Averie and Nolan, and Jimmy (wife Lucy) Yost and their children Landon and Natalie; a son Eric (wife Christi) Harbin of Beardstown and their daughters Lexi and Laci; two brothers Dana Bruce Lynn (wife Cindy) of Virginia and Carl Riley Lynn (wife Gerlinde) of Herrington Kansas; a sister Nancy Ann Taylor (husband Russell) of Loda, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two half-sisters, and a half-brother.

Jeanette graduated from Virginia High School in the class of 1966. She was first employed with Farmers State Bank for three years, then Walker Hardware in Jacksonville for three years, and with First National Bank of Beardstown, retiring in 2015 as Vice President after 41 years of employment. Jeanette was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church and Beardstown Emblem Club #474. In her early years, Jeanette loved to Golf. She had a passion for reading and was an avid LA Dodgers and Green Bay Packers fan. Fishing brought her much solitude, but nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown, with Reverend Catherine Burnette officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia. The family will meet with friends one hour before the services at the memorial home on Thursday.
