Dolores Jean McClenning-Coufal of Beardstown, died Thursday, July 09, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born December 24, 1928 in Jacksonville, Illinois, the daughter of Clarence John and Sadie Fernandes Day. She married Oren Guy McClenning on March 4, 1948 in Roodhouse and he preceded her in death on July 12, 1993. She later married Harry Coufal on July 29, 1995 at First United Methodist Church in Beardstown.

Surviving is her husband Harry Coufal of Beardstown; her children Michael (wife Becky) McClenning of Portland, OR, and Daniel (wife Mitzi) McClenning of Beardstown; four step children, David, Donny, Mike, and Mark Coufal; twelve grandchildren Wendy, Joe (wife Bree), Cheryl, Kelly, Shelly, Kris, Amber, Christopher (fiancé Erin), Sarah (husband Joe), Paige (husband Ryan), Jerri (husband Brandon), and Jimmy (wife Lucy); and six great grandchildren Ross, Ryan, Addi, Blane, Jackson, Landon,.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Oren Guy McClenning, her son Mark McClenning (surviving wife Lois McClenning), four sisters, and two brothers.

Jean graduated from Jacksonville in the class of 1946. She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Beardstown. She enjoyed fishing and camping in her younger years and had a love for traveling. In the winter, Jean could be found in Texas which included many trips to Mexico. She loved to keep busy by playing solitaire or working a crossword puzzle. Cooking was her gift to her family. She thoroughly loved her family and friends and will be genuinely missed, especially by those who knew her as “Granny”.

Funeral services will be held at 10 o’clock AM Saturday, July 11, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in Beardstown. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the services at the church. Following services a lunch will be held at the church and then burial will be at Fernwood Cemetery in Roodhouse at 1:15 PM.

Memorials have been suggested to First United Methodist Church or Green Pasture Campground.
