Iva Stock

Iva May Stock, age 92 of Beardstown, died Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Heritage Health in Beardstown.

She was born September 6, 1929 in Beardstown, the daughter of Wilmer and Mayola Jaggers Large. She married Glen E. Stock on October 27, 1946 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beardstown and he preceded her in death on May 27, 1999.

She is survived by her daughter Debra (husband Robin) Lewis of Beardstown; three sons Doug Stock of Chicago, Aaron (wife Janelle) Stock of Beardstown, and Jon (wife Becky) Stock of Beardstown; 12 grandchildren Troy, Gabriel, Elizabeth, Libby, Lucy, Larissa, Jessica, Jarod, Jennifer, Cole, Mackenzie, and Megan; 14 great grandchildren Andrea, Magda, Jude, Grace, Tristan, Jocelyn, Beckett, Landon, Natalie, Tucker, Bo, Cecilia, Porter, and Mina Mae; a sister Mary Jane Canedy of North Carolina; a special family member Sharon Large of Beardstown; and her dear friend and caregiver Etta Robertson of Beardstown. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two daughters Janis Hackman and Christine (surviving husband Gene) Coriell of Pontiac, a son-in-law Ronald Stoeckig, a grandson Andrew (surviving wife Kayla) Stock, three brothers Glenn in infancy,  Lloyd and Don Large, and a sister Eva Meyer.

Mrs. Stock graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1946. Her life was devoted to her faith, family, and friends. She was a lifelong member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beardstown and was always open with her faith sharing the love of God with others. She was a member of Cass County Homemakers and throughout her life she was known as “Aunt Peach” to those closest to her. Iva’s greatest joy in life was her family. She raised six children all while helping on the family farm, maintaining meticulous laundry, and cooking many delicious meals. She was sophisticated and elegant with her style and was proud to be called “Grammie”. Iva was her grandchildren’s biggest fan and loved cheering “You can do it” at an uncountable number of games. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and loved to feel the warmth of the sun.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. Private burial will be held. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the services at the memorial home.
