Goldie Chestnutt

Goldie Ann Chestnutt, age 81 of rural Rushville, died Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Sarah D. Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

She was born January 19, 1936 in Arenzville, the daughter of George and Dorothy Emery Newberry. She married William L. “Bill” Chestnutt, Sr, on February 6, 1954 and he preceded her in death on December 11, 2016.

She is survived by three sons William “Bill” Chestnutt, Jr. and Frank Chestnutt, both of Rushville and Mike Chestnutt of Frederick; three daughters, Dorothy Orrill of Frederick, Cindy (husband Charlie) Tucker of Beardstown and Barbara (husband Daniel) Mangold of Frederick; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister Brenda Hazelwood of Dixon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two daughters, Sue Yvonne and Lori Ann Chestnutt, and two sisters Dorothy Schroeder and Chantel Atwood.

Goldie attended Arenzville High School and later in life had worked at Myers Nursing Home in Beardstown. She enjoyed riding horses, taking car rides, flowers, and fishing. She had a love for all animals but most importantly she loved her family.

Graveside services will be held at 11:15 AM Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 10-11:00 AM Thursday morning at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown.
