Frederick H. “Fred” Hardwick, age 73 of Peoria, and formerly of Beardstown, died Monday, November 4, 2019 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born September 13, 1946 in Genoa, NE, the son of Homer and Virginia Kenner Hardwick.
He is survived by his daughter Heather of Las Vegas; four grandsons; three brothers Forman Hardwick of Springfield, Doug (wife Peggy) Hardwick of Normal, and Stan (wife Barbara) of Des Plaines; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother David (surviving wife Diane) Hardwick of Springfield.
Fred graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1964 and where he lettered in football and baseball. He attended Western Kentucky State University where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He transferred to Illinois College and joined Phi Alpha, and graduated in 1968 with a degree in Sociology. Fred had a long career in sales, but the past 20 years of his life was spent in the study of Reflexology and was a past president of the Illinois State Reflexology Society. He was a voracious reader, had a passion for history and politics, and served as a Republican Precinct Committeeman in East Peoria. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 4-6 PM Friday at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. Condolences may be left online at www.colwellmemorialhome.com or on Facebook at Colwell Memorial Home.
