Eva Mae Lynn, age 96 of Beardstown, died Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Heritage Health in Mt. Sterling.

She was born May 22, 1921 in Pike County, the daughter of Raymond and Loretta Mae Sutlif Cook. She married Gerald E. Lynn on February 12, 1946 and he preceded her in death on January 26, 1984.

She is survived by two daughters Sharon Wilmot and Linda Birdsell of Beardstown; six grandchildren Jeff (Lynn) Smith, Melody Forsythe, Lori (Don) King, Melissa Winner, Travis (Angie) Birdsell, and Tierney Birdsell; fourteen great grandchildren Chad Kellerman, Britney Kellerman, Braden Forsythe, Adam Brewer, Sara Brewer, Amanda Krohe, Alvin Winner, Michael, Madison, McKenzie, Steven, Keith, Kloe, and Kali Birdsell; four great great grandchildren Kaiiden, Talon, Matt and Ella; and one brother Ray Junior (Lori) Cook of Browning; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two great great grandsons in infancy Gregory and Andrew; two brothers Winifred Cook and Bill Cook and; one sister Lois Dowds.

Mrs. Lynn attended Pike County Schools where she obtained her GED. During World War II, she joined the United States Army Women’s Corp and was stationed in Georgia. Eva was a charter member of the Beardstown First Christian Church. She worked for the Beardstown Chamber of Commerce and at the Secretary of State office in Beardstown. She was very active in the Cass County Democrats and had a strong passion for politics. Mrs. Lynn held a seat on the Cass County Board for 40 years and served in many capacities including: Chairman of the Finance Committee, Cass County Health Department and Human Resource Department.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, May 11, 2018 at First Christian Church in Beardstown with Pastor Mike Courson officiating. Burial will be in the Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 9 A.M. until time of services at the church. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
