Dorothy Louise Collins “Nanna” “Sis” Hobrock, age 90 of Rural Beardstown, died Saturday, May 5, 2018 at her daughter’s home.

She was born January 22, 1928 in Tallula, the daughter of Roy and Zepha McDaniel Collins. She married Ruel James Hobrock on November 8, 1947 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beardstown and he preceded her in death on February 11, 2005.

She is survived by her daughter Geraldine Ann “Gerry” (husband Gary) Blum of rural Beardstown; two grandson’s Bill (wife Lora) Davis of Beardstown and Brian (wife Kelly) Davis of Murrayville; four grandchildren Taylor (husband Quincy) Landreth of Sarasota, FL, Dalton Davis and Brittany Davis both of Beardstown, and Peyton Thaxton of Morton; and one sister Ruth (husband Don) Cox of Jacksonville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her grandson Brice Davis, two brothers Kenneth and Harold Collins, one sister Rose Marie Buck, and two step siblings R.V. and Leona.

Mrs. Hobrock attended school in Rural Beardstown. She was a baptized member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Beardstown and the Beardstown Emblem Club #474. She farmed alongside her husband in Cass County her entire life and they also owned and operated Hobrock’s Country Market on US 67 south of Beardstown for 30 years. She was a caretaker and loved by all.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beardstown with Reverend Scott Egbers officiating. Burial will be held in the Arenzville North Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 9 AM until 10:45 AM at the church on Tuesday. Following the visitation, Emblem Memorial Services will held in the First Evangelical Lutheran Church Hall.
