Doris Mae Moran Quinn, 85, of Beardstown, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Beardstown Nursing and Rehab.
She was born on August 24, 1939, in Brown County, the daughter of Gerald and Helen (Wagner) Moran. She married Forrest Raymond Quinn on February 22, 1956, and he preceded her in death on April 14, 1993.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons at birth, Jeffery and Scott Quinn; five sisters, Helen Bresnahan, Brenda Hamann, Karen Scheer, Mary Hedrick, and Betty Kennedy; and two brothers, Don and Richard Moran.
Doris is survived by four children: Ron Quinn (wife Toni) of Beardstown, Lori Griffin (husband Tom) of Beardstown, Teresa Perkins (husband Scott) of Coffeen, and Randy Quinn (wife Toni) of Springfield; 10 grandchildren: Joseph Quinn, Justin Quinn, Michelle Weber (husband Josh), Hannah Griffin (companion Justin Moore), Sarah Stock (fiancé Joe Smith), Jeremy Stock (wife Stephanie), Whitney Raney (husband BJ), Alex Chessare, Madison Chessare, and Nicholas Quinn; 15 great-grandchildren (excited for a 16th soon); one great-great-granddaughter; her sister, Beverly Booth (husband Robert) of Mt. Sterling; her brother, David Moran (wife Janice) of Beardstown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Doris's love for her family was the foundation of her life. She attended Beardstown High School and was a former member of the Beardstown Emblem Club #474. She worked as head cook at St. John's Lutheran School and at Beardstown Terrace. Doris was well known for her baking and candy making-her sugar cookies, caramels, buckeyes, and hand-rolled noodles were family favorites. She cherished time with her grandchildren and took immense pride in being a great-great-grandmother.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. Burial will follow at Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends for visitation one hour prior to the services at the memorial home.
