David Wayne Jones

David W. Jones, 71, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family. David was born November 20, 1954 in Franklin, the son of Halsey Ray Jones and Mildred "Milly" Ruth Jones. He married Kimberly Schroll Hageman on July 28, 1999 in Marco Island, FL.

He is survived by his wife Kim of Virginia; two step-children, Jennifer Freidinger of Beardstown and Phillip Hageman of Texas; 5 grandsons, Johnny Freidinger of Chatham, Ryan Freidinger of Beardstown, Austin, Cameron, and Dylan Hageman of Texas; one granddaughter, Tori Hageman of Texas; one great grandson Waylon Freidinger of Chatham; his brothers George Jones of Las Vegas, James "JJ" Jones (Susan) of Jacksonville; one stepbrother Mark Jones (Merle) of Jacksonville; numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, and many friends who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother Donna Jones, and a sister-in-law Sue.

David graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1973. Throughout his life he was known as a hard-working man and held a variety of jobs, including Western Auto, Mobile Chemical, and as a self-employed carpet and floor layer. He took pride in his work and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved music and especially enjoyed working on guitars and playing guitars with his special friends. He also loved NASCAR racing.

David will be remembered for his quiet strength, his work ethic, and the many lives he touched throughout the years. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and loved him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family asks that he be remembered with love and gratitude for a life well lived. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
