David M. Hoover

David M. Hoover, 74 of Beardstown, Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Beardstown Nursing and Rehab.

He was born October 1, 1951, in Taylorville, the son of David Scott and Mary Martin Hoover. He married Rosie Mary Guerra and she preceded him in death.

He is survived by his son, Christopher David Hoover of Beardstown, one sister, Susan Basham of Florida, and two nieces, Amy Yuzenas and Sarah Dickenson. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

David's dedication to environmental causes was unwavering. He graduated from Taylorville High School in 1971 and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry from the University of Michigan. He was a self-employed entrepreneur, running his business, Dave's Tree Service. David was a proud member of the Sierra Club and The Nature Conservancy, actively supporting their missions.

Cremation Rites have been accorded, and David will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville. In accordance with his wishes, no formal services will be held. The Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is handling the arrangements.
