Christopher Fox

February 14, 1985 — November 7, 2023

Ashland

Christopher "Chris" Brian Fox, 38, of Ashland, died Tuesday, November 7, 2023, while working in Kentucky.

He was born February 14, 1985 in Beardstown, the son of Kenneth and Kimberly Byus Fox. He married Francesca Abbott on October 13, 2019 and she survives in Ashland.

Chris is survived by four children Lillian, Elijah, Ryne, and Charleigh, his parents, Kenneth and Kim Fox of Beardstown; his in-laws, April (husband Chris) Buscher of Springfield and Steven Cosner of Peoria; his maternal grandmother Patsy Icenogle; his paternal grandfather James Fox; two sisters Brandi (husband Casey) Riddell and Terri (husband Danny) Wood both of Beardstown; two brothers Michael (wife Heather) Fox of Quincy and Shawn Casey of Beardstown; four sisters-in-law Jessica Cosner, Katelyn Cosner (companion Ronnie Cranister), Kimberly Buscher, and Amber Buscher all of Springfield; his four fur babies Arlo, Libby, Dos, and Bear; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence Icenogle, Dora Fox, and Jessie Trainer Lindle, and two cousins, Brandon Stinson and Erika Blackwell.

Chris attended Beardstown High School. Early in life, he helped his dad commercial fish and worked alongside his family-owned business, Showman's Carnival. He found his passion after being hired by Monitoring Control and Compliance. Chris started as a landfill Technician and, through his dedicated work ethic, became a Project Manager. Chris loved entertaining and cooking for his family and friends; whether on the BBQ, smoking meat, shrimp boils, or just trying something new, he knew how to host a good time. Chris found peace in the beauty of nature. An avid outdoorsman, he reveled in exploring the wilderness. His love for the outdoors and water was evident in every adventure he embarked upon, whether it was on a boat, 4-wheeler, or golf cart. He cheered loudly and proudly for the Chicago Cubs, but his greatest joy in life was being an engaged father. He devoted his time to whatever extracurricular activity the kids were involved in. The memories made selling Girl Scout cookies, helping with Boy Scouts, and attending hunter safety courses will forever be embraced.

The family will meet with friends from 4:30-7:30 PM Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Colwell Memorial Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. Burial will follow in the Beardstown City Cemetery.
