Charlotte M. Knous, age 73 of Beardstown, died Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at her home.
She was born February 7, 1946 in Naples, the daughter of Howard Wesley and Anna H. Frank Barrett. She married Raymond Leroy “Raymie” Knous on September 3, 1975 in Virginia, and he preceded her in death on October 21, 2008.
She is survived by her daughter Marsha Marie Knous (companion Donnie Schoonover) of Kilbourne; her son Thomas Ray “Tommy” (wife Amie) Knous of Virginia; six grandchildren Kaleb Michael Knous, Kane Mason Knous, Kelton Matthew Knous, Analee E. Knous, Shelby Lynn Knous, and Matthew Brian Coats; and three brothers Howard W. (companion Valerie) Barrett of San Francisco, Fred E. (wife Nancy) Barrett of Jacksonville, and James R. Barrett of Oceanside, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister Mary Ann Ratlifs, and four brothers John, Donald, Jackie, and Michael Barrett.
Mrs. Knous graduated from Virginia High School in the class of 1964. She worked at Walker Nursing Home in Virginia, but when she became a mother, she stayed at home to care for her children. She lived to serve her Lord and never went anywhere without her Bible. Charlotte was always helping others and always had a smile on her face. She was a member Calvary Baptist Church in Beardstown. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church in Beardstown. Burial will be in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
