Carol Christine Wubker, 77, of Beardstown, died Saturday, June 13, 2026, at her home.
She was born October 25, 1948, in Beardstown, the daughter of Oliver Andrew and Jewel Elizabeth "Bettie" Hamblin Krohe. She married Charles "Chuck" Wubker on April 6, 1968, and he survives in Beardstown.
She is also survived by three children, Amy Hager (Aaron) of Urbana, Paul Wubker (Nealy) of Beardstown, and Andy Wubker (Amy) of Beardstown; ten grandchildren, Alex Hager (Alexis), Abby Hager (Devon Miezio), Britta Duckwiler (Dustin), Landon Wubker (Abby), Shawon Wubker, Lucas Wubker (Kara), Caleph Wubker, Lucy Anderson (Gunnar) & Ben Wubker; eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dottie Dyche (Bill) of Jacksonville, Ann Bell (Tom) of Beardstown, and Audrey Perry of Beardstown; two brothers, Allen Krohe (Jackie) of Beardstown and Ken Krohe (Kelly) of Wichita Falls, Texas; her faithful four-legged companion, Teddy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Percy DeWayne Wubker (surviving wife, Tiffany); one sister, Janet Spears; and two brothers, David Krohe (surviving wife, Lona Wagner) and Myles Krohe (surviving wife, Deb).
Carol graduated from Beardstown High School with the Class of 1966. Following graduation, she spent a short time working at the Illinois State Capitol in Springfield before dedicating herself to raising her family. Later, she worked at St. John's Hospital as the personal secretary to Dr. William Zimmer. She retired in 2013 to help care for her husband.
Carol loved traveling with Chuck and treasured the memories they made together. She was an avid reader, enjoyed flower gardening, especially tending her African violets, and never missed an opportunity to donate blood. She also enjoyed making homemade caramel and was well known for her angel food cake with caramel icing, a favorite at birthdays and family celebrations. Her unwavering faith guided her throughout her life and was evident in the way she served her church, family, and community. She was a faithful member of Beardstown Church of the Nazarene and was instrumental in the ministry of Iglesia del Nazareno Libertad, serving on both church boards, stewardship committees, and as church treasurer. Above all, Carol cherished her family. She shared a special bond with her children and grandchildren, taking great pride in their lives and accomplishments. Her love, encouragement, and steadfast faith will remain a lasting legacy for those who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Beardstown Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Beardstown Church of the Nazarene. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
