Carlos Treadway

Carlos Eugene Treadway, Sr., age 89 of Beardstown, died Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at his home.

He was born on November 12, 1928 in Beardstown, the son of Carl E. and Bessie Huppers Treadway. He married Mary Katherine Buck on September 9, 1948 and she preceded him in death.

He is survived by his son Carlos Jr. (wife Susan) Treadway of Beardstown; his daughter Carlene (husband Tom) Alcorn of Beardstown, four grandchildren Christopher (wife Marisa) Treadway of Portland, OR, Erica Treadway of Springfield, Jeremy Alcorn of Longmont, CO, and Kory Alcorn of Beardstown; one great granddaughter Madison Treadway of Portland, OR; and one sister Freda Brooks of Metamora. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his brother Floyd Treadway.

Carlos graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1946. He was employed by Rambler Garage and R&S Auto Supply in Beardstown. While working, he started his own business Treadway Marine Sales which he owned and operated for 30 years. In his earlier years you could find him playing fast pitch softball down at the ball park. In his free time, Carlos enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling. Most of all he cherished his family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, January 15, 2018 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown with Kenneth L. Alcorn officiating. Burial will be in the Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 4-6 PM Sunday at the memorial home.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to Cass/Schuyler Area Hospice.
