Brenda Lea Horton

Brenda Lea Horton, 71 of Versailles, died Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Beardstown Nursing and Rehab.

She was born November 17, 1954 in Cooperstown, the daughter of Sidney S. and Mary Louise Bradbury Logsdon. She married Michael "Mike" Horton on October 15, 1990 and he survives in Versailles. She is also survived by her brother Gayle Logsdon (wife Anne) of Jacksonville and their children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Brenda attended Brown County schools. At age 8, she moved with her family to Versailles and Soon became her father's right hand at Logsdon Orchard, where their apple cider was a local favorite. She worked at Carter lumber in Jacksonville, where she met her husband, before embarking on a 15 year journey with Dot Foods in Mount Sterling. Brenda had a passion for flowers, transforming her 1 acre home into a vibrant Haven of blooms and trees. The town of Versailles florist under her green thumb enter her deep faith, guided every step of her life.

Private services will be held with burial at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. Colwell Memorial home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
