Beverly June Rebman

April 29, 1933 — December 7, 2025

Jacksonville

Beverly "The Towel Lady" June Rebman, 92, of Jacksonville and formerly of Beardstown, entered the Kingdom of Heaven Sunday, December 7, 2025, at her home.

She was born April 29, 1933, in Beardstown, the daughter of John Wesley and Viola Mayme Turner Jockisch. She married William Frederick "Bill" Rebman on September 13, 1953. After 70 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on October 2, 2023."

She is survived by her three daughters: Ava Moore of Jacksonville, Arla (Bruce) Bain of New Hampshire, and Karen (Kent) Gutmann of Ashland; 10 grandchildren: Elizabeth Moore, Amberly (Zachary) Kane, Emily (Adam Ullius) Bain, Bruce (Taylor) Bain III, Charles Bain, Thomas Bain, Kimberly (Alex Frogge) Bain, David Bain, Patrick Bain, and Katelyn Gutmann; four great grandchildren: Sophia, Colton, Emerson, and Adeline; her sister Vicki Hull of Rushville; her sister-in-law Linda Jockish of Beardstown; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers: Melvin "Mickey", Virgil, Bradley, Myron "Keith", Gordon, and Kirby Jockisch; and a son-in-law, Les Moore.

Beverly attended Swan Lake and Black Oak Country Schools in Beardstown. Her faith played an important role in her life. She grew up in the Black Oak Church and always considered herself a member there at heart even when she found herself in other churches. She often commented that she and her husband were the first people married at the church after the current building was built. She also attended and held membership in other churches over the course of her life including Beardstown Church of the Nazarene, Bethel Community Church of the Nazarene, and Grace Place Church of the Nazarene (Jacksonville).

Over more than five decades, Beverly welcomed over 250 daycare children and dozens of foster children into her home, nurturing each one with unwavering warmth and care. Her camera was never far from reach, always ready to capture the laughter, milestones, and everyday moments of those she loved. With nimble fingers and a generous heart, Beverly crocheted over 20,000 hand towels and more than 2,000 prayer shawls, joyfully gifting them to friends, neighbors, and anyone she met along the way. She also held a special passion for collecting Nativities, cherishing each one as a reflection of her deep faith and love for the Christmas season.

Memorial services will be held at 10 AM Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Black Oak Church in rural Beardstown. Burial will follow in Black Oak Cemetery. The service and burial will be jointly officiated by Rev. Vicki Hull, Rev. Jerimy Wooley, and Rev. Elizabeth Moore. The family will meet with friends from 5-7 PM on Friday, December 12th, at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown.
