Barbara Dianne Campbell

Barbara Dianne Campbell, 70 of Beardstown, died Monday, December 18, 2023 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

She was born April 30, 1953 in Rushville, the daughter of Verne and Melba Curtis Phillips. She married James J. "Bill" Campbell on May 18, 1980 and he survives in Beardstown.

She is also survived by three daughters Lora (husband Josh) Theivagt of Beardstown, Leanne (husband Curtis) Watson of Lewistown, and Mandy Campbell of Beardstown; eight grandchildren Kirsta, Samantha, Lucas, Jennifer, Jessica, Jamie, Hunter, and Jason; and eight great-grandchildren Kiera, Benton, Braxton, Brycen, Vivian, Fallon, Marah, and Nora. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Barbara graduated from Rushville High School in the class of 1971. She started working for Oscar Mayer in Beardstown and retired with Excel Corporation in the sanitation department. She spent her time reading mystery novels and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, especially rooting for her favorite player Bob Gibson when he was playing. Barbara's ultimate joy in life was being with her family and loving on her grandchildren.

The family will meet with friends from 4-6 PM Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. There will be no formal services.
