Argenis González

Argenis Miguel Gonzalez, de 16 años, de Beardstown, falleció mientras dormía el sábado 6 de diciembre de 2025 en su hogar.

Nació el 21 de enero de 2009 en Puerto Rico, hijo amado de Peter Garrido y Yudelka González. Aunque sus años fueron demasiado pocos, los llenó de una calidez tranquila y una presencia constante que tocó a quienes lo rodeaban.

Argenis deja atrás a sus padres; sus hermanos, Andrew Garrido, Kendriel Jared Garrido, Sarah Garrido, Mercedes Garrido y Kendrialis Zoe Garrido-González; su abuela, Milagros Peña González; su tía, Yuleika Ramírez; sus tíos, Leo Ramírez y Gabriel González; varios primos; y muchos amigos que lo querían profundamente. Le precede en la muerte su abuelo, Gabriel González Diamante Rojo.

Argenis era estudiante de tercer año en Beardstown High School. Le encantaba salir con sus amigos, ir de compras, ver deportes y mantenerse conectado con las personas que amaba. Disfrutaba mandar mensajes a sus primos Gabriella González, Leah Ramírez y Tyron Ramírez, manteniendo el vínculo de la manera en que los jóvenes lo hacen mejor. Sentía una gran admiración por LeBron James y disfrutaba de los placeres simples de la vida: los corn dogs, las palomitas de maíz y los momentos compartidos con quienes le hacían sentir en casa.

Argenis tenía una presencia suave, y aun en los días tranquilos, quienes lo rodeaban encontraban consuelo simplemente sabiendo que él estaba allí. Su ausencia se sentirá profundamente en los pasillos de la escuela y en los corazones de todos los que lo conocieron.

La familia recibirá a amigos y seres queridos de 12:00 a 8:00 p.m. el sábado 13 de diciembre de 2025 en Colwell Memorial Home en Beardstown. Habrá una visita (viewing) durante el horario de visita, y los ritos de cremación se llevarán a cabo después de la visita. No habrá servicio formal ni entierro; solo un tiempo para reunirse, compartir recuerdos y honrar al joven que significó tanto para tantos.

Argenis Miguel Gonzalez, age 16, of Beardstown, passed away in his sleep on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at his home.

Born January 21, 2009, in Puerto Rico, Argenis was the beloved son of Peter Garrido and Yudelka Gonzalez. Though his years were far too few, he filled them with a quiet warmth and a steady presence that touched those around him.

Argenis is survived by his parents; his siblings, Andrew Garrido, Kendriel Jared Garrido,Sarah Garrido, Mercedes Garrido, and Kendrialis Zoe Garrido-Gonzalez; his grandmother, Milagros Peña Gonzalez; his aunt, Yuleika Ramirez; his uncles, Leo Ramirez and Gabriel Gonzalez; several cousins; and many friends who cared deeply for him. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Gabriel Gonzalez Diamante Rojo.

A Junior at Beardstown High School, Argenis loved being out with friends, shopping, watching sports, and keeping up with the people he loved. He enjoyed texting his cousins Gabriella Gonzalez, Leah Ramirez, and Tyron Ramirez, staying connected in the way teenagers do best. He had a true devotion to LeBron James and an appreciation for life's simple joys-corn dogs, popcorn, and moments spent with the people who made him feel at home.

Argenis had a gentle presence, and even on quiet days, those around him felt comforted just knowing he was there. His absence will be deeply felt in the hallways of the school and in the hearts of all who knew him.

The family will meet with friends from 12-8 PM on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. A viewing will be held during visitation hours, and cremation rites will be accorded after visitation. There will be no formal service or burial-just time to gather, share memories, and honor the young man who meant so much to so many.
