She was born December 10, 1957 in Beardstown, the daughter of Walter and Laura Wilcox Pherigo.
She is survived by her children Randy (wife Angela) Bollinger of Sleepy Hollow, Christal (husband Jeremy) Fisher of Astoria, Cory (wife Kayla) Bollinger of Winchester, and Chad Bollinger of Beardstown; nine grandchildren Macy, Mason, Brenton, Tayler, Tristan, Kiera, Addie, Courtney, and Kendall; six sisters Linda Krems, Karen Lyles, Patty (husband James) Mayes, Judy (Husband Mike) Smith, Sherry Roope, and Debbie (husband) Roy Knouse; her brother Robert Pherigo; numerous nieces and nephews; and her four legged fur baby Jojo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters Mary Armstrong, Sandra Park, and Nancy Stout, two siblings in infancy John Ray and Joyce Pherigo, and her adopted mother Sally Pherigo.
Billie Jo attended Beardstown Schools. Her parents died when she was young, and her brother Robert and his wife Sally adopted Billy Jo and her minor sisters. One of her proudest moments was when she obtained her GED later in her life. It was not easy, but she persevered and pushed through receiving the certification. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Heritage Health in Beardstown, Bettigail’s Gifts, Beardstown Elks Lodge, and most importantly raising her family. Billie Jo enjoyed crafting and making floral arrangements and having tea and coffee with her friends or as she called it “Clutch Time”. She watched many years of soap operas and always fell asleep to the Golden Girls. She was most proud of her children and grandchildren and anytime she was able to spend with them.
According to her wishes cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
